A fairly moderate ride along the most westerly part of Hadrian's Wall path & Cycleway (N72) largely on tarmac (paved) 'B' roads. Traffic levels can be frequently busy mostly with local use, especially around peak times, so when navigating care is required! The distance is approximately 30 miles there and back, with cycling time without stopping approximately 3 - 4 hours - depending upon if you decide to take the loop through the beautiful village of Beaumont and visit the King Edward I Monument?
There are a number of quality hostelries along the route to provide refreshment, which along with the raw beauty and verdant wildlife make the journey worthwhile - as well as being able to say 'I cycled to the start/end of Hadrian's Wall'.
